ECS Motherboard Problems - help
hello all,
i'm new to linux, so pardon my noobness. . . i posted earlier in the RedHat/Fedora forum about my install issues.
linuxforums.org/forum/red-hat-fedora-linux/179464-fedora-14-install-problem-maybe.html
i have reason to believe my problems may be hardware related. in particular about my motherboard. it is an ECS NFORCE3-A with the newest version of the firmware (F). after install of F14, F15, or Ubuntu i get "grub>_" and it doesn't matter if its an IDE drive or SATA drive that i install to. . .
in a nutshell, the command "root (hd0,0)" returns invalid drive, but if i boot from the disc in rescue mode it has no problem. . .
i don't know what to do. could someone point me in the right direction.
thanks in advance,
- nick
