    usb hard drive and mounting drives

    as of today none of my drives are shoving up for mountin usb or windows

    can type lsusb and my drive is listed (seagate) but it does not show when i click places

    this has only started today it was fine yesterday, today before this started i had reinstaled windows(drive shows up in windows)

    any ideas os-unbuntu

    Either at home or at work or down the pub
    Try running the command
    sudo mount -a
    to see if it shows up. If not, try disconnecting and reconnecting it to see if it shows up then.

    My Seagate external drive doesn't automatically mount correctly so I have added a line to my fstab to specifically mount it. I never unplug mine as it just sits there making hourly backups so I don't know if that's an option for you?
