sound not working
i just installed mandrake 10.1 community the other day and everything seems to be running smoothly except my sound. during the install i let all the hardware be auto detected. im running an ASUS A7M-266 motherboard and using the integrated sound off the board. the driver, if that is what it is called, listed in harddrake was something like smnd-cmpi?
any help would be appreciated...

Open up kmixer and make sure that your channels aren't muted. By default, all you channels are muted in ALSA.

Does it recognize the device at all? If not it might be disabled in the BIOS, this is the default setting on my ASUS.
