Portable Dual Socket Server
Hello,
Does anyone know of a vender that sells portable servers with dual or even quad socket setups? Basically I'm looking for something comparable to the Dell PowerEdge r810, which is a Quad Socket 2U Server.
That said as long as it's a portable form factor with dual Intel Xeon CPUs it should work. Oh, and with a minimum of 4 DIMM slots.
Thanks,
Brandon

What do you mean by portable? As in laptop? Or what?
Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.

Don't know of any dual/quad socket laptops/portables, but plenty with single-socket quad/six core i7 processors. Some will support up to 16GB of RAM. These will work well as a low-end server (low-end in todays' terms - high-end in terms of 5 years ago).
