    strange problems with ati card

    well following combo worked:

    Slackware 10
    Linux 2.6.9
    fglrx-4.3.0-3.14.6
    R9800 256Mb

and everything is working fine while X is running, but as soon as i try to switch to console or restart/shutdown my computer, it just hangs...

and screen is filled with some kind of memory garbage...

the problem is that shutdown process, well, isn't running, so any chached data is not writen to disks, database doesn't shutdown, etc...

    did anyone had simillar problems??

More than likely, it's the simple problem that ATI + Linux = Bad Idea.
