I'm not sure, but that modem is probably designed only for Windows. You might be able to find a driver for it (search the web for "linmodem" and "linux winmodem". Best bet is to get a "hardware modem" which can be an internal card like the one you have but is often (usually?) an external one. I think all "serial modems" are okay with linux. Ebay always has inexpensive serial modems.

usb devices are usually 'faulty' on linux....always choose serial modems for linux ,they surely work!!(/dev/ttyS0-7)

I doubt you'll be able to get it to work with such an old distro. Upgrade to at the VERY least Redhat 9, preferably Fedora Core 3.

Given some of the other posts here lately, it might be better to recommend FC2 or FC1 or some other distro. Specifically: http://www.linuxforums.org/forum/top...tml&highlight= but also others.
