Post USB Flashes after formatting with mkfs and sometimes system hangs up

    Hello everybody,

I've got a problem with my USB Stick.
If I try to partition it, it sometimes hangs up, it sometimes completes but the stick-flashing goes on and I really don't know why!

    Any ideas?

    Thanks for your answers.

Well, under windows everything works just fine. I am able to format the stick and I am able to use it, as if it was new!

    Any other ideas?

    Troubleshooting goes like this:
    1. You execute a command.
    2. You look at the response.
    3. You take action.

Since we do not have a clue what your 1 and 2 look like the answer is no, no other ideas.

    enter
    Code:
    dmesg -w
in a terminal, and watch it.
now try to reproduce the problematic behavior, and take note of all new messages coming in.
