Serious Mouse problems
Okay i just installed SOTlinux, the installation went fine and the mouse worked. after the installation i was promted to reboot. after rebooting the setup process came up and the mouse stopped working, i got through it using the keyboard. The desktop loaded and still the mouse doesnt work so i have no way of accessing anything in linux, all i can do is crl-alt del to restart
The mouse is an IBM Optical USB wheel mouse. The light isnt even on when linux loads, i have no clue how to solve this i hope someone can help.

Since it doesn't even light up I would guess that you have a usb issue. I would try an adapter at first and reboot and see if it will at least light up. Once you get to that point we can help you further.
Some people have told me they don't think a fat penguin really embodies the grace of Linux, which just tells me they have never seen a angry penguin charging at them in excess of 100mph. They'd be a lot more careful about what they say if they had.
