Want2 install RH9 kernel under FC2 for Motorola sm56sp modem
hi,
I have an internal Motorola SM-56 Speakerphone Modem, and I have downloaded the leatest driver from http://www.motorola.com/softmodem/pu...1.rh9.i386.rpm to install it.
But this Driver is for Redhat 9 but I am using Fedora Core 2. So today I am Downloading The Correct Kernel source (version-2.4.20) from http://www.techspot.com/redir?target...-2.4.20.tar.gz for Redhat 9.
I am newbie to linux and want to know how can I compile and install this old kernel in order to install Motoral Sm56 Speaker phone Modem and I want to know will this process is being adopted by me to make my modem to be detected and be worked under newly installed kernel or not? Hope for a positive reply and valueable suggestions. Please also tell me if there is any other way I can apply to install my modem under Fedora core 2. Thank you very much in advance.
