another ATI question
I know that there are a million ati card question but I have yet to see this problem. I just got an ati 9200 Radeon and I plugged it in, chaned the kernel, loaded the drivers, changed xorg.conf (not right yet but I haven't even gotten there) and then I restart my grub loader comes up I click on gentoo and then screen goes blank with a little blinking cursor at the bottom. I tried changing kernel options a bunch but to no avail. Finally I rip the card out and plug my monitor back into the on-board video adapter that came with motherboard and restart and everything is fine. So I'm wondering if there is a conflict between my on-board adapter and ati card of if something just configured wrong. I'm lost. Thanks.

Ok I have found the answer. I had framebuffer turned off for startup terminal which is supposed to be the safe mode but apparently it conflicted with the card I turned it on and the the screen comes to life during boot and I get to my terminal. Hope this helps anyone with a similar problem.
