Yes, it is possible to run 32 bit linux on AMD64 processor. It just won't be optimised to its full potential. You are already doing it by running 32 bit Windows on your system (Unless you are using XP64 beta)

i mean will i be able to work on linux 32 bit as it is workin mow on my P4....and are the 64 bit versions of linux free....(red hat enterprise??)

SURE they are free
for example you may use Fedora core (an unsupported RedHat-like distro) which is released as 32-bit and 64-bit (AMD 64) versions
AMD Athlon 64/FX/opteron could work either in 32-bit mode or in 64-bit
as for Intel Itanium processors - you will not be able to exec 32-bit apps there unless using emulators
