Using MDK 10.0 and microtek slimscan C6..

Using the parallel port and scanner is NOT recognized, even tho it is listed in the conf file as supported. /dev/lp0 is not an option in the "select device" list for configuration.

I Borrowed a USB version of this scanner and it is detected and works fine, so I know the drivers are there

Is there some way to freeup the parallel printer port for use by the scanner?
