Multiple Sound Output Not Possible. Also enabling mp3.
Hi,
1) When I'm playing songs with XMMS and if I try to play games, I'm not able to hear the sound from the game. However the sound starts playing if I close XMMS.
Y is it so. My card is capable of playing multiple sounds. It does it in Windows.
2) Is there anyway to enable MP3 support globally in Redhat 9?? For example, when playing the "kbattleships" game which uses the "Arts" to play the sound in MP3 format, no sound is heard. However, the sound from other games are heard.
I'm using the MP3 plugin for XMMS.
Please help me out.

First, check all of the settings on the mixer are not muted on both the input and output, also check the settings on the advance mode too.
