    Radeon 9700 unable to use 3D Acceleration on Suse 9.2?

    I just stated using Linux. I have Suse 9.2 and a Radeon 9700. My system tells me my card CANNOT use 3D acceleration. What's up with this? Is there anything I can do? Thanks in advance. JROB

    I ran this command: glxinfo | grep direct . and i'm told: direct rendering: no. anything i can do???

    Due to license agreements, SuSE are not allowed to include the 3D drivers with the distro so you have to find and install them manually. Unfortunately, ATI still don't offer the greatest spport to linux drivers which is why I stick to nVidia.
