Samsung monitor / xorg.conf
I have recently installed Ubuntu 5.04 on my desktop. My monitor is Samsung SyncMaster 955DF. Here is what I have in /etc/X11/xorg.cong
Section "Monitor"
Identifier "SyncMaster"
Option "DPMS"
EndSection
What should I add (refresh rates and, especially, modelines) in order to optimize it for my monitor? (I note the image "trembles" a little...)
Thanks in advance.

When you do "xorgconfig" you will be asked what the refresh rates are for your monitor.
Look on the back of your monitor for the vertical and horizontal refresh rates.
Or if you don't see what you need on the back of the monitor, go to the Samsung website, punch your monitor into the search bar, and your refresh rates should be in there. How to know if you are a geek.

Yeah, xorgconfig is pretty good at getting things setup and running. You just need to know the proper settings to enter when the short series of questions begin. You'll be asked about settings for monitor, video card, mouse, and keyboard. Let us know how it goes...
