Laptop PSU query
I have a laptop that requires a 24Vdc PSU (strange I know) it has no battery fitted. Does anybody know if I could connect two of the +12V connectors together in series from an ATX PSU to achieve this and would it still work with no battery fitted?
Any help would be much appreciated.

I wouldn't anyway, if nothing else because the battery acts as a capactior to prevent spiking in the system. It would probably worki but there's a high risk of frying your system.

Not that I suggest you try it but there was a tutorial how to "daisy-chain" PSUs somewhere on the web. Another of those sites I forgot to bookmark. The point of the certain tutorial was to power a massive fan and I mean massive! :P
