FC3 in a Asrock K8 COMBO Z motherboard, problems with SATA drive
I'm trying to install FC3 in a Asrock K8 COMBO Z motherboard.
I has 2 drives, a SCSI drive (no problem) and a SATA drive, A Seagate Barracuda 7200.7, 120 Gb, FC3 didn't recognize this last one.
Somebody has some experience with this motherboard?

What S-ATA chipset does your motherboard have?
In case you didn't know, you can check this with the lspci command. If you don't run as root and haven't otherwise put the sbin directories in your PATH, run it as follows.
Code:/sbin/lspci

The Motherboard has an 'ALI-M1689 Integrated single chip' chipset.
I did 2 tests:
Without hard discs:
Trying to install RH9. I get a Kernel Panic.
Trying to install FC4 also I get a Kernel Panic
I think I will try another motherboard.
Thanks.

I did try an ALi S-ATA PCI board once, and back then, I clearly recall ALi being unsupported by Linux.
Since then, however, ALi support has been added to the latest kernel releases. It's still marked as experimental, though, which may explain why it's not working for you.
