i've got an old parallel port scanner, a Mustek 600 CP. i've installed the SANE package, edited my dll.conf and mustek_pp.conf as detailed in various places (removed the prefixed '#' from the relevant).

However, when i run:

SANE_DEBUG_MUSTEK_PP=128 scanimage -L
All i get is:

[sanei_debug] Setting debug level of mustek_pp to 128.
...then the system hangs indefinitely. If i try to set up the scanner via YaST the same problem occurs.
