    What have you tried?

    Memory fades but 9.0 was a 2.4.21 kernel,

    I dont know about USB2 support but the burners seem to work on usb1

    I think you just needed ide-scsi module as cdrecord would only identify scsi devices not sure about growisofs ... Suse 9.0 is a bit retro for me now,
