i read somewhere (i can't remember where) that there is a little box you can but that detects incoming signals when someone is trying to ring and then logs you off the internet so you can take the call. has anyone heard of something like this? i twould be much obliged if info could be given.Thanks v much

I've heard of them, and I'm pretty sure that they're available in most retail stores that sell electronics (at least hear in the states). I'll bet you can find one online, though I'm not sure where.

It aint hardware, but it does the things u were asking [ althougn i aint got it working ] but its purpose is to cut u off if there's an incoming call???

ive tried an "emerson switch box"but it gave me alot of false alarms
on the m$ side v.92 modems work geeeerate ive got a zoom usb v.92 (chipset unknown) and a couple of broadexnt v.92's with creative chipsets
im new to linux and i wish i hadnt sold the lucent modems i had cuse now i cant find drivers for the ones ive got
