General Hardware Question: Building HLDS Server
Hi,
I'm building a Half-Life Dedicated Server. What I am hoping to do is raid two Seagate cheeta 10,000 RMP ulta-wide scsi (U320/Ultra-320) hardrives together. The board is a Dual PIII 866 board on the Compaq Proliant G1 server. It has a raid controller build in. What I want to know is if I put two Ultra-Wide scsi cards in the board, and atatch the two cheetas, can I run them as my primary hard drives raided? I was just looking around and it looks like I need an scsi raid card. Will that work with slackware? Would any particular brand of raid card be better? Can linux use scsi drives as it's primary drives? (slackware) Thanks, Sam!
