what's it like using a pda on a linux computer? i seem to be getting so little info. i'm not interested in hacking a pda to put a linux OS on it, but rather just using a palmOS to sync with my linux PC. what do i do? i imagine ppc's cannot work with linux?

Never used it but there is an application for syncing called Kpilot. I remember reading on the net that it was pretty good, didn't really give much trouble.
