Radeon 9800pro 3D performance- Good or bad?
After a few headaches, as usual, I got the fglrx driver to install for my 9800 card. I was wondering - about how many frames per second should I be getting in glxgears with this card? Currently, I've been able to get about 4500 if all goes well installing the darned thing. Is that decent in any way?
Also, for curiosity's sake, about how many fps would an equal Nvidia card get?

My Geforce 6800 gets around 8,000-10,000 fps in glxgears when properly configured. I do not recommend ATI for Linux. I had a very bad experience with a 9800 Pro about a year ago.

Yes, I read your review on that.
The sad thing is that I chose the 9800 over a 6600 when I bought it. My old 9100 had 3D through X, so I didn't give it a second thought. (That was back when I was a total Linux noob)
