Dual Booting SUSE 9.3 /WIN XP but can't configure Samsung SyncMaster 930B Monitor
Hello to all,
This is my first post on this forum, but have had good success on the Installation forum getting my dual boot installed. Now it seems to be a matter of configurating the monitor.
SUSE 9.3 never seemed to "like" my monitor, and the only way it would install was (Novell support idea) to type "vga=normal" as boot option at the beginning of the installation process. Now I can boot to 9.3 and choose to manually configure my monitor settings, but when I try, the program refuses the settings (taken from the 930B's manual) and the installation test fails. I have tried several variants of the data, including reducing the color setting from 32bit to 16. The name of the monitor and the manufacturer appear in the settings, but the data is unrecognized and the program won't accept what I type in. What do I do now?
Thanks in advance for the help.

if you are having troubles with getting the right values for your monitor, try using a generic model, e.g. generic 19" lcd etc.. Also, use sax2 (from command line) to configure the monitors/graphics system.
Life is complex, it has a real part and an imaginary part.
