    Need help configuring my sound card

    I just installed linux a few days ago and i cant seen to figure out how to set up my sound card it keeps showing up as "not configured" any help is appreciated thanks.

    a common problem, but first I'll need a few bits of information from you.

    1) What distribution ar you running (eg. Redhat, Mandrake...) and what version?
    2) What make and model of sound card (on board chip) have you got?
    3) What desktop are you running (Gnome, KDE, Icewm...) and what version?
