getting a motorola E398 for xmas, how do i access the internal memory?
will i be able to access the internal memory the usual way through the usb port or will i have to use a special program to access the stuff on the memory?
(would might knowing in advance, want it to work straight away when i open it)

Usually you would need a special program from the phone company to access the memory on the phone. Problem is these programs are for windows only. Take a look at tuxmobil to see if someone has accessed that phone from linux and if so, how it was done.
