radeon x850 and fglrxconfig
well, I just installed SUSE 10.0 and decided to try the ATI drivers for my x850.
I downloaded the the large .run and installed according to Ati's site.
After I configure everything and it says its going to write the xorg.conf, it then says it was unable to find any supported hardware while probing the PCI bus ?
I have an ATI Radeon x850 pro, um .. i'm new
any help would be awesome.
Many thanks, Chris.

wow
Well, after many many hours I finally got it to work.
For anyone else having this trouble I used - http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_X850XT_ATI_Drivers
Nice walkthough, I had to edit the .GCC files quite a few times with hexedit.
I finally gave up and edited ALL of them, GCC3, GCC4, Etc..
My Card id's were all backwards and were normally listed twice per file.
The part I was getting hung up on was when placing ChipID 0x****, I was using the correct chipid.. dont do this, I ended up using the x850 Xt chip (0x5d4d).
Hope this help anyone else having trouble.
If you need anything more please e-mail me at cwdegood@cableone.net, more than willing ot lend a hand =)
