how to install scsi host adapter and tape drive on redhat 8?
hi,
i have a mother board with a onboard adaptec aic-7902 chip and a LTO external tape drive. How do i go about installing the driver and setting up the tape drive?
i've tried modprobe aic79xx, modprobe will fail if the tape drive is turn on, if i turn off the tape drive, modprobe will be successful. Is this normal? Anyway, even if iturn on the tape drive after i modprobe, "mt -f /dev/st0 status" shows "no such device" so how do i backup to tape?
forgot to mention that the server is already install with redhat 8 with kernel version 2.4.20-28.8
Please help a linux newbie.
Thanks In Advance.
