How 2 get monitor to work at right resolution?
Hi,
I'm learning how to use SuSE 9.1 at home. I just bought a new LCD monitor (http://www.westinghousedigital.com/p...d-monitor.aspx) and I'm trying to get this to look right under Linux.
The max resolution is 1280 x 768. SuSE 9.1 doesn't seem to support this monitor at this resolution. I can get it to work at 1024 x 768, but it doesn't look right. My video card is an Nvidia GeForce2 MX400. I can get the 1280x768 resolution on Windows Me on the same computer, so I know the problem is not hardware related.
Can somebody walk me through how I can get this resolution in Linux? I'm a newbie here, so any help, and a lot of handholding, is very much appreciated.
Thanks,
Bob

You'll have to have X configured properly to get the full benefit of your card and monitor.
What monitor are you picking from the list of monitors within Suse?
Have you tried the generic LCD or Flat-panel monitors?
