    comapq server fans

    Hi

    This post is out of context for this website but don't know where else to go for help. Just thought some users might be able to help me or point me in the right direction.

    I just bought an old compaq 6400r server for home use, the thing is as its a business server its been designed to run 24/7 therefore has 5 hotplug fans. These fans make awful racket and 4 of them are not needed, the thing is if i remove move than 2 the system shuts down.
    I am wanting to fool the server into thinking the fans are still there when there not. Thought i could plug in a new connector and create a new circuit. Not sure if this would work or if the server checks for resistance.
    If anyone out there could give me any assitence it would be a great help.
