itsy my first time using linux and im setting up a small server.

The drive itself should have no problems working with linux filesystems. It would be worthwhile checking to see that your SCSI adapter chipset is supported. Even if it isn't, though, you can still get hold of a supported PCI SCSI card cheaply and easily.
