    ASRock 939-DUAL SATA MOBO

Just wondering if any else has this board and if they have gotten dri working with the agp slot.

I don't believe that the kernel has agpgart support for this chipset. Any time I try to use the ATI proprietary drivers my X server crashes and I have to hard reset the computer.

here is a link to the board

All right, brain. You don't like me and I don't like you, but let's just do this and I can get back to killing you with beer. All New Users Read This!!! If you have a grub problem please look at GRUB MANUAL

Did you ever get a response?

I'm very new to Linux. I use Mepis on my daughter's computer and I had Kanotix on an old Dell dual PIII 450 server with a bizarre combination of onboard SCSI and a generic PCI SATA card with one Samsung SATA drive. I built a new PC with the ASRock 939 Dual SATA and I can't get any distribution to recognize the SATA now at all. Everything else seems to work fine from the Mepis and Kanotix live CD's. For now I'm running Windows XP (which also gave me a fit with the SATA but works now) but I'm grieving the loss of Kanotix. Have you heard any replies to your post or have you learned any tricks to make this MB work with Linux?
