dell laptop modem
Hello,
I have a Dell Inspiron 4150 which I have installed Linux Fedora core 2. The install went great! However one of 3 things that did not get installed was the modem.
I have done some research online and learned it can be difficult to get a laptop modem working with Linux but thought I would throw this post up to see if I can get some help from those that know.
The modem is made by: Actiontec and the model is:MD560RD
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Ian

you could have a look here http://www.linmodems.org/, imho you would be better getting an external modem as internal ones tend to be mainly software driven (i.e. the processor does most of the work)
andySLOMO: acer extensa 5235 2.2ghz,2gb ram 160gb hdd wireless
SPEEDY: homebrew desktop,Amd x2 dualcore,2gb ram,500gb +1tb( 2x500gb) hdd suse 11.3,32mb fibreline

ya I figured an external modem would be the most simple solution. But I put the thread up here just in case someone else has already solved the problem.
