Firmware problem with AverTV DVB-T USB 2.0 dvb receiver in Zenwalk
Hello, looking for a way to get the nice blue light to turn on on the front of my dvb box. I'm using zenwalk 2.2 (kernel 2.6.15.4.
I tried to follow the advice on (some website who's url I can't post till I've posted 4 more times) but I don't know where to put the firmware file for my dvb box. I've tried putting it in etc/hotplug/usb/ and /lib/firmware but that didn't work. In suse it went in /usr/lib/hotplug/firmware but zenwalk seems to be set up differently. For reference, the firmware file is called dvb-usb-avertv-a800-02.fw
this is the output of /sbin/lsusb
this is the output of roughly the last 1/4 of dmesg. I don't know which part pertains to my device and I couldn't include it all because of the 10,000 character limit on posts in this forum, so I guessed it was near the end. If not I can repost with the relevant bit.Code:Bus 005 Device 001: ID 0000:0000 Bus 004 Device 002: ID 046d:c504 Logitech, Inc. I don't know what else to include, if anyone thinks they can help and needs more info just say the word.Code:fb0: VESA VGA frame buffer device lp: driver loaded but no devices found PNP: PS/2 Controller [PNP0303:PS2K] at 0x60,0x64 irq 1 PNP: PS/2 controller doesn't have AUX irq; using default 12 serio: i8042 AUX port at 0x60,0x64 irq 12 serio: i8042 KBD port at 0x60,0x64 irq 1 Serial: 8250/16550 driver $Revision: 1.90 $ 4 ports, IRQ sharing enabled serial8250: ttyS0 at I/O 0x3f8 (irq = 4) is a 16550A serial8250: ttyS1 at I/O 0x2f8 (irq = 3) is a 16550A 00:08: ttyS0 at I/O 0x3f8 (irq = 4) is a 16550A 00:09: ttyS1 at I/O 0x2f8 (irq = 3) is a 16550A parport: PnPBIOS parport detected. parport0: PC-style at 0x378 (0x778), irq 7, dma 3 [PCSPP,TRISTATE,COMPAT,EPP,ECP ,DMA] lp0: using parport0 (interrupt-driven).
