well if you check my link above it is for the mobo that I have which has both agp 8x and pci-express and the price is currently 66$ and is a socket 939. Everything works with linux I've had no problems.
All right, brain. You don't like me and I don't like you, but let's just do this and I can get back to killing you with beer. All New Users Read This!!! If you have a grub problem please look at GRUB MANUAL

THANKS: on budget and better than 754. Good specs and detailed too: I'll study the specs carefully. I'll even open the case and do a dry run ofall that fits (or doesn't):
My two IDE Hds will fit?
My Cdrom and Cdrw drives?
mobo has on board memory?
if that checks out,
One Asrock: 66
an el cheapo graphics card: 25
a 64cpu: ???
more memory: ??
sata hd: later
one set of screwdrivers check
anti static gear: check
a ziplock for leftover parts check
what else?
EDIT: It seems 939 socket 64bit cpus are pricey, costing three times or more than 754 socket cpus. Think Ill stick with 754...
for example
ASRock K8NF4G-SATA2 Socket 754 NVIDIA GeForce 6100 Micro ATX AMD
has pci express slot and on board video bingo!
