Adding more hard drives with a RAID card.....?
I'm looking to add more hard drives to my PC (mainly so I can attempt a Gentoo install
), and the onboard IDE bus is full. Is it possible to just shove a RAID card in there, and add more drives that way? Because none of the cards I've seen have Linux drivers.... so I'm not sure if they will work?
Has anyone else done this or know if its possible?
Thanks!

Most of the cards will likely work, HOWEVER, you won't get hardware RAID functionality. If you want a RAID setup, you'll have to do it software-wise. But if you're looking just to add HDD space, most cards will work.
