Hello,

I´m having some problems with my sound card... I have configured the sound card support with the alsaconf script correctly, but when the sound starts, it stop after 2 seconds...

Which distro are you running?

Have you applied all updates to that distro?

[Look, I know its a dumb question, but I gotta check...] have you tried alternative speakers?

Distro = Slackware 10.2 kernel 2.4.31

I have not upgraded my distro... what i need to updgrade? alsa-driver and alsa packages or need to upgrade more packages!?

do you get a really annoying noice for longer than 2 seconds if you do:

cat /dev/urandom > /dev/dsp


hit control + c to end the noice.

I have tried....with the command that you have posted but it's play a noise for 2 seconds only

please, I need to make my sound work
