What is the standard way to test to see if an ATA/IDE disk drive has spun up yet and is ready to go? I can't find a command to send that will report that back to me. I am looking for the equivalent of SCSI's Test Unit Ready command except for ATA/IDE. I'm actually using SATA but I'm thinking that is not important for this particular question.
