<SOLVED > Built in Wireless Adapter
Hello all,
I am new to these forums, and here is my delima
I recently purchased a new laptop
it is a Averatec 7170
AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-50
it has 1 gig ram
100 gig sata drive
nvidia go 6100 video card
a ralink MiniPCI wireless card that is 802.11 b/g built in and I have yet to find out if it is compatible with linux.
I have had no luck in finding out what chipset it uses and also what model it is from ralink so that i can further dig into it.
any help with this would be greatly appreciated
regards
BigBreese

Even if there are available drivers you will find a lot of people use ndiswrapper to use the windows drivers.
There is also a page for ralink based devices. I would suspect these drivers have already made their way into some of the major distros.Ralink on linux
