Sata and USB Hdd spindown??
Hey guys, I am having trouble spinning down my SATA and USB hardrives attached to my Linux box. I know Hdparm is used to Spindown ATA devices connected only on the IDE bus, but for some reason my SATA drives are being recognized as SCSI sda devices. I tried Sdparm with no luck. I am using Seagate and maxtor drives, anyone have a solution ?

I wasn't quite sure about this one, as SCSI emulation is used for SATA (hence /dev/sd?) but SATA is still ATA. I found this link, I hope it is of use to you SATA/Linux
