i have display problem

i am a new user of linux . i installed fedora core 5 and it work properly but when i change my resolution to 1024x768 and change monitor type ... my system comes up in a striped color screen .
please help me to solve this problem . thank you.

is there anything like safe mode in fedora core 5 same windows ?!

Hi, were you able to fix your resolution display messed up problem? I have the same problem... I went in display settings and chose a generic monitor and changed my resolution to 1024 X 768 (which worked in Windows) but now my screen wont come up after it boots up and everything. When I go into windows, everything is fine though. So if you have solved your problem, i'd greatly appreciate it if you could email me or let me know how to fix it. I need to know how to first of all login in a text mode into fedora 5, and then how to change the config file to make it work. Thanks
