    HP PSC 1205


    I bought one of these printers at new year, and it doesn't say on the box it's Linux compatible, but yet, the scanner is recognized, but when i go to install the printer it says it's not supported. Has anyone got this printer workin under SuSE 9.0?

    What happens if you do a "echo "Test" > /dev/lpd"?

    to put the answer shortly..... NOTHING!

    I assume u mean to do that from a shell? The shell seems to have no errors, jus doesn't output anything to the printer. Does it make ne difference that it's a USB printer, not a parallel one?

    I'm sorry, didn't think of that (though I thought that the /dev/lpd was the stardard printer device name, kinda like /dev/dsp?)..

    Anyways, found this:

    looks like it the driver from HP. Worth checking out.

    I'll give it a go tomorrow! I'm waiting for a spare power cable as my printer cable's powering my sderver at the moment! But will let u know how it goes! Cheers!

    Got the printer workin with that driver thanx Kriss!!

    But now i can't get the scanner part to work!!
