im looking for a new laptop....it should be practic+cheap
only what i want is:
-battery working more than 5hrs
-intel processor
-17" monitor
-100gb hdd or more

i would run gentoo and BSD on it....

I don't think you'll have much luck combining a 17" monitor with a 5 hour battery need. You'd be luck y to get 4 hours on a new battery. Also despite efforts from the ACPI projects linux still seems to have shorter life on laptops than other proprietary OSes.

hmm...ok than 15"
just battery is most needed
yes but hardware works much harder than with other OS'sAlso despite efforts from the ACPI projects linux still seems to have shorter life on laptops than other proprietary OSes.
