no dial tone using pctel hsp 56 mr

Hi, well, few weeks ago I googled some drivers to work my winmodem pctel hsp 56mr, finally I found the slamr module, I downloaded from linmodems.org, and I followed the instructions but since last week the module doesn´t work anymore from one day to another, I tried to reinstall the module but I always get the same message from kppp: "no dial tone"

can you help me with that?

I've got a PCTel, and although I use different drivers now (sorry, don't have a link), I remember using those ones. IIRC, you have to set it to ignore the lack of a dialtone. If you're still having problems and want to see exactly what's going on, try wvdial.
