there are some hotkeys alon the top of the keyboard, contrast, wireless, volume etc. in windows i could adjust the volume in the taskbar as well as with these keys.

i would not be able to put the volume up very high unless the hotkey control was maxed.

now i am on linux and the volume seems fairly low. if i put the master control up high, and the taskbar control up high, the volume is still fairly low, and you can hear static like when you turn speakers up very high with no output.

i am worried that the hotkey control is turned down low which is causeing the problem.

i dont really care about haveing a driver for the hotkeys as much as manually turning it up and leaving it.

any ideas?
