Where to get/how to install ATI Rage II driver?
Before I ask any question, I try to find the answer on the forums, and elsewhere on the web. Unfortunately I have not been so lucky with this one ...
I've got an ATI Rage II card. I'm running Slackware 9.1 and X without problems using the default drivers (I think). Here's an excerpt of the /etc/X11/XF86Config file for the video card driver ...
---------------------
Section "Device"
Identifier "VESA Framebuffer"
Driver "vesa"
#VideoRam 4096
# Insert Clocks lines here if appropriate
EndSection
---------------------
So as I understand, it's using a default vesa driver, unaccelerated, and I can't seem to achieve higher than 1024x768 resolution. Here are the video settings ...
---------------------
DefaultDepth 16
...
Subsection "Display"
Depth 16
Modes "1600x1200" "1280x1024" "1152x864" "1024x768" "800x600" "640x480"
EndSubsection
---------------------
1. I'd like to know if there are drivers available for this card so that I can accelerate it.
2. I'd like to be able to increase my resolution a bit.
Any help here would be greatly appreciated.
