Dumping USB data input?
I recently upgraded my system to a perty AMD AM2 3800+ Dual core, and i'm relatively new to linux...
The motherboard is in Asus's Digital Home range, and comes with an IR reciever and remote, chances are this remote wont worth with linux unless it uses generic components and is compatible with LIRC, but thats no fun...
So what i'm hoping is that somebody will be able to name me an app that will allow the dumping of data from a USB port, and allow me to make that data control the system...
for example if it dumps 10000110 then hit Alt+D or whatever , also i'm a cross platform user for the moment so if its got a windows port i'd be ever so happy ...
Sorry if this post is relatively stupid, my understanding of both electronics and linux are both borderline, but I hope to learn more about both
