what happened to good old fashioned executable files?

how on earth do i install the new drivers?

edit - its kubuntu 6.10 if it helps.

no idea how i get any console up or anything.... except for the dos-prompt like Konsole

This is Linux, it works in a totally different way than Windows

the instructions say to enable 2 of them..... but it doesnt say how. :/
