    ehternet card troubles



    greetings

    my ethernet card is a 3c501

    the list of supported hardware for RedHat has 3c509 and more (all greater than 509)

    when i try to configure and activate the connection, it tells me "3c501 device does not seem to be present" - so it is seeing it...

    thoughts?

    As a fellow noob I got to tell ya...

    Dont fight it bro, just try another NIC. I spent DAYS trying and finally just tried another and it was detected right off. See if you can get a Windows buddy to trade with you.
