Whenever i plug in any USB device my computer freezes up, and will not respond to any input (except the reset button and power button on the front of the case but thats by-the-by). if i boot the system with the USB device plugged in the boot sequence freezes at 'initializing Hotplugging Devices... USB' and will not progress!
the removal of the USB device does not rectify the situation, the entire system needs to be recycled before it will allow anything to happen again.
what am i missing, what am i doing wrong, or do i just need to smash my motherboard into little tiny pieces and get a new one?
